31 year old cake baking, hat knitting hard ass. I have been living in the great city of Chicago for almost 3 years. I grew up in a VERY small town in Michigan. Welcome to my head…and my life.
I named myself Janed21 for a couple of reasons. The first was because I am not creative at all. The second was because I wanted some anonymity. Three, because 21 is my favorite number even if 17 and 20 were my best years of life, carefree and full of naughty fun. I often regret the choice of JaneD21 but what else was there? It seemed like everything had been taken. I’m not a mom so I can’t go that route. I don’t particularly have any talents that I perform on a regular basis, so I can’t go that route. I figured that by calling myself JaneD21 I was opening myself to the possibilities of blogging about anything I want….hence the “Life in my head” title. I should delve into my brain more and be more interesting but I am kind of hit and miss on the writing talent. Most of my blogs are “on the go” written from my phone or in the few stolen minutes I have with the ONE working computer in my apartment. I’m sorry for not being more interesting, I’ll try to step it up a notch.
A few interesting facts:
-Grew up on a farm. That’s right. A real country girl.
-I took my first plane trip when I was 28.
-I have two cats and I knit…yes, I’m 30 going on 80 and my social life reflects it.
-I like classical novels…. Russian stories are my favorite at the moment.
-Movie-Buff… but who isn’t now a-days
-I like to bake.
-My boyfriend (of almost 3 years) and I just moved into a one room apartment. We previously lived in a 400 sq ft studio. We like this MUCH better.
-I lost my favorite pet a year ago. My Boyfriend got a kitten when we moved.
Think that is all for now.
nice… i had to link you when I came here and found my page linked here.. thanks
also this seemed the only place to leave a comment.
nice place very nice
I really enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for the effort. Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for reading.
I was very touched and moved by your blog on marriage and feeling that wasn’t going to happen for you. I only know you via your writing but really enjoy and like you. Finding love is a very random event. Have you considered finding a partner through an online service? (I know several people that successfully connected that way – leading to marriage). Alternatively, increase your chances of meeting the “right” person by participating in some club/meeting that interests you – kind of like buying extra lottery tickets.
You share some very intimate thoughts and feelings, and I truly believe you would make a great partner.
One more thing, I am a firm believer in positive thinking. So put out positive energy on this matter.
Smiles,
Tim
why didn’t you post this under the marriage blog? 😀
Yes, I have tried various online dating sites. I don’t like them. I have had more luck in the “real world”. Although, I have met some really great people online, they just don’t do it for me. Thanks for the advice!
How does it feel being 30? 🙂 belated happy birthday.
I spent my weekend congested and blowing my nose to the point of it being raw! So far… physically, 30 sucks! lol I did have my two favorite people with me, My sister and the boy. So, it was all good.
How is life treating you? any luck on the job search? I miss your blog
I’m having a duh moment about your comment on the yarn harlot blog.
What is a “JSSBO”? In other words, what is a “JSS” Bind Off?
Thanks, J.
JSSBO is Jenny’s Super Stretchy Bind off. It was featured on knitty.com. it’s basically a bind off with a wrap to give you a stretchier bind off. It saved my bind off! I learned about it on one of the sock forums on Ravelry. My first pair of leg warmers ten years ago had to be cut at the bottom because my sister couldn’t get her foot through. I’m tempted to make her another pair with the JSSBO to make up for my super tight knitting. Do a search for JSSBO on knitty. You’ll find great directions! Hope that helps.
