Where were you????
June 26, 2009
As a historian, I’m curious to know where you were when you heard about the deaths of Farrah Faucett and Michael Jackson?
I heard about Farrah while I was at work. I had heard Barbara Walters yesterday morning say that she was in her last hours. I was expecting that one. May God be with her family! It’s never easy to lose someone!
I was on the CTA bus #36 going north. I was knitting tentacles for a jelly fish I am working on. Some girl behind me said that Michael Jordan died. I turned around in shock and said, “WHAT?” She then said, “No, sorry, Michael Jackson.” I said, “WHAT????” Either one a huge shock! I shared the news with the rest of my knitting circle. Everyone was shocked.
Where were YOU????

Honestly, I’m really not sure. Probably at my mom’s house. But I really don’t care either. I don’t mean that in a way of “Everyone else is ridiculous,” or “Pop Idols suck” or anything. I just don’t care. I felt bad for Ed McMahon because he was going through so much. I DO feel bad for the families of MJ and Farrah. But I’ll always remember where I was when I heard Princess Di died. These passings are just not on that smae level, for me, anyway.

Sorry, I’ve been out of my mind lately. What have you been up to the past few months?
